Battle For Power

Battle for Power is an online game where players can choose which side to play as: The Toa Nuva Phantoka or the Phantoka Makuta. The game itself is divided into five separate mini-games per side.

Gameplay

Gameplay begins at the front page, where players are shown the Phantoka Mini Movie and directed to a page which shows the two teams, and how much territory each controls. By clicking either team’s picture, players are directed to that team’s page, where they can view a map of the Matoran city with sections of the map colored depending on which faction controls it, as well as unlocked characters. Clicking the arrow next to each character brings the player to gameplay with the selected character.

Vamprah/Pohatu

If playing as Vamprah or Pohatu, the objective is to fly through Karda Nui and destroy all enemies. A secondary goal is to prevent the player character’s enemies from “rescuing” their respective Matoran. Enemies who successfully rescue their Matoran become aggressive and faster; rescued Matoran also subtract from the score. Scores are totaled to give the player’s side (good or evil) either 10, 50, or 100 points.

The game is divided into five levels, which are in turn divided into two parts. The first part of every level consists of collecting ten ammunition pieces of varying sizes (Midak Spheres for the Toa, and Tridax Pods for the Makuta) in ten seconds, as measured in the symbols at the top of the screen. The second half of each level is a fighting one, in which players must defeat a certain number of enemies (Two in the first level, three in the second, six in the third, eleven in the fourth, and nineteen in the fifth) from the opposing team in as little time as possible. At the beginning of each fight mode, all enemies are passive, and will slowly try to reach the Matoran at the bottom of the screen and take them to the top.

Players must defeat all the Makuta or the Toa Nuva by shooting at them with Shadow energy bolts or Light balls (launched from your Midak Skyblaster). If the Toa/Makuta are not stopped before they reach the top of the screen, the Matoran will get on the Toa/Makuta’s back. Once ridden, the Toa/Makuta and Matoran pair will become aggressive, faster, and tougher to defeat. Coming into contact with an enemy will cause the player’s character to bounce back and freeze for a second. Players lose the game once all the Matoran in play are rescued.

Scoring follows the following formula, calculated at the end of each level: (Number of ammunition collected in part 1) X (Number of Matoran left after part 2) X (100) – (Number of seconds used to complete both parts)

Numerous power ups are available, depending on if players have both characters for each pairing of canister set/Matoran. If they only have the canister set, then they fly slowly, their shots are less powerful and less rapid, and have less time to complete part one of each level (signified by a yellow time bar). If they have the Matoran, their weapon is upgraded to defeat any enemy, their rate of fire is increased, they can fly faster, and their time to complete the first part of each level (signified by a green time bar) is increased to ten seconds.

Controls

  • Arrow Keys – Movement
  • SpaceBar – Fire Shadow Energy balls or Light balls (Fight Mode).

Enemies

If playing as Pohatu, the player must fight against Antroz, Vamprah, and Chirox. If playing as Vamprah, the player must fight against Kopaka, Lewa, and Pohatu.

Cheats

  • AVG825 – Vamprah
  • PRA628 – Vamprah
  • OPO612 – Pohatu
  • OAU867 – Pohatu

Kopaka

If playing as Kopaka, the objective of the game is to defeat each Makuta three times. The player, in turn, loses if he/she is defeated the same number of times.

The game has three levels, one for each Phantoka Makuta. Each one of the characters have three lives, represented as Matoran. When a character loses a life, he will go to his “Matoran group” and pick up a Matoran (He is still vulnerable to attack in this short time). Once the opponent loses all three lives, the players continues to the next level. However, the player keeps the same number of lives as the previous level. The game is over once the player loses all three lives, or defeats all three Makuta.

To defeat an opponent, the player must shoot light balls at the Makuta. A damage meter records how much damage a character has taken, and once it fills, that character loses a life.

There are also some power ups that increase the power of the blasts, the speed of the user, or even restore all health. These power ups fall from the sky, and only work with the character if he picks it up. When a power up is retrieved, a yellow time bar appears. It counts down the amount of time that the power up will be able to be used.

When a BIO Code is used, the position of the character’s Matoran is shown in a more aerodynamic position, and the character flies faster. Plus, the player starts out with three extra bomb power ups.

Controls

  • Arrow Keys – Movement
  • 9 – Rapid fire
  • 0 – Activate special power (power up)

Enemies

In single player matches, the player must fight against Antroz, Chirox, and Vamprah. In two player matches, the players compete against each other with one playing as Kopaka and the other one of the Makuta.

Antroz

If playing as Antroz, the objective of the game is to bomb Av-Matoran dwellings with Tridax Pods, as well as the Matoran themselves. The game functions about an unchanging map of a Stalactite Village, with mountains and ground represented. Scattered along this map are Matoran dwellings, and enemies. The dwellings are highlighted in differing colors, and each must be bombed with a different type of Tridax Pod, in accordance. Each level must be completed within five minutes, or the player loses. Scoring is based off the following formula: (number of dwellings bombed)400+(number of enemies defeated)300-(Amount of time taken, in seconds)-(number of missed bombs)10

Without Radiak’s BIO Code entered, the player controls Radiak, tethered to Antroz by a line of circular lights, representing the player’s lives, and shortening in accordance. By maneuvering Radiak, Antroz can be rotated around the player. Deaths occur when Radiak crashes, or when he contacts an enemy or a light blast. Antroz is immortal, bouncing off of the landscape and destroying enemies. Thus, Antroz can alternatively be used as a shield or weapon, as the situation requires.

With Radiak’s BIO Code entered, Radiak is attached to Antroz’s back, and they are controlled as one entity by the player. The duo is immune to all damages save Solek’s light spheres and the ground, and will instantly defeat any enemy they touch. Plus, speed and agility are enhanced.

An extra two-player mode is available, where the second player uses the keys 1, 2, 4, and 5 to control Lewa Nuva and Tanma to assist Toa Ignika. Playing a multiplayer game still earns points for the team in the overall Battle for Power rankings.

The game features several power-ups seen in other games, including health, shielding, rapid fire, firing multiple bolts, stronger attacks, missile-like blasts, and a lightning bolt that destroys all enemies above and below Toa Ignika. Also, a brand new power-up is available, where Toa Ignika destroys all nearby enemies within a short range while the Kanohi Ignika appears shortly.

Voya Nui Games

Piraka Attack

Piraka Attack is a BIONICLE online game currently available at BIONICLE.com. Essentially a shooter game, the player plays as one of the six Piraka, shooting Zamor Spheres at Matoran.

Story

A batch of Zamor spheres containing Antidermis have caused the enslaved Matoran on Voya Nui to grow brave and strike back against the Piraka in large numbers. Together, the six Piraka decide to enslave the Matoran again with new Zamor so they can regain control of the island.

Gameplay

  • The game was announced long after the Voya Nui Online Game, but actually appeared online first. Some fans were initially unsure what to make of Piraka Attack: some believed it actually was the Voya Nui Online Game, but it soon became apparent that it couldn’t be since the player controls the Toa Inika in the VNOG, not the Piraka.
  • Right clicking, and selecting Play on Piraka Attack will cause the current level to be restarted, and the player to gain a life.

Voya Nui Online Game

The Voya Nui Online Game (VNOG) is a turn-by-turn RPG game featuring the Toa Inika, Piraka, Voya Nui Resistance Team, and various Rahi. The game itself is considered as non-canonical, although there are several aspects in the game which are canon.

Plot

The player arrives on an island called Voya Nui and meets Garan, who tells about the island, Piraka, and Kanohi Ignika. He also says that the Piraka are enslaving the Matoran with Antidermis and that the player needs to free the Matoran, defeat the Piraka, retrieve the Mask of Life, and bring peace back to Voya Nui. Garan then gives the player quests, ranging from eradicating Rahi to draining a lake of lava. The player then proceeds to the underground chambers. There, the player must defeat all six Piraka along with Vezon, who is riding Fenrakk. After the player defeats Vezon and his mount, he obtains the Ignika and the game ends with a preview of Mahri Nui.

Summary

Players control one skin of the six Toa Inika as they venture around the island fighting the Piraka and helping the Matoran resistance out. Players eventually go underneath the island to fight the Piraka and try to obtain the Mask of Life, otherwise known as the Ignika from the depths of the island. Players also try to solve some mysteries that are brought up, and hinder the Piraka by performing tasks such as destroying vats of Antidermis and defeating the Piraka.

Chapter 0/Introduction: Entry of the Lagoon

Here in this chapter, a Toa washes up on the shore of Voya Nui. He meets a Matoran by the name of Garan, who tells the Toa to go and kill some Rahi called Ice Gafna and bring some metal. He does so and brings the metal to Garan, who asks him to go and slay a Burnak who stole his tools before he can make anything. The Toa does so, and he is rewarded with a Kanohi Mask of Power. Garan then asks the Toa to retrieve some metal pieces for him, and after that, he asks the Toa to escort him to an island where they can continue. While the Toa is escorting Garan, they find a Blocking Lava Ape sitting in the exit to a log that is acting as a bridge across water. After the Toa distracts the Blocking Lava Ape, the Toa and Garan continue their way across to the hidden island.

Chapter 1: The Matoran Village

The Matoran Village

After the Toa escorts Garan to a hidden island, the Matoran instructs him to go and retrieve three stones from the nearby village. The Toa goes there, and is attacked by a Nektann Guardian. After this, he retrieves the stones and takes them back to Garan, who heard the Nektann alarms and is worried that the Piraka may return to check up. He tells the Toa to go check to see if there are any Nektann after the alarm, and when the Toa reaches the village, he finds two Guardians and a Defense Nektann. The Toa dispatches them, and returns to Garan with the results of his search. After hearing that the Guardian was destroyed, Garan insists on being escorted to a Wasteland near the Village to hide. When the Toa and Garan reach the spot, Garan finds out that the Piraka had showed up while they were gone, and left some more Nektann. The Toa defeats them all and goes back to Garan, but the two are then attacked by Reidak, who is accompanied by some Nektann. The Toa incredibly defeats the Piraka and the Nektann single handedly, and Garan tell him that Reidak will probably tell the other Piraka the Toa is on Voya Nui.

Chapter 2: The Coasts of Voya Nui

The Coasts of Voya Nui

After the narrow victory against Reidak, the Toa and Garan converse, and Garan instructs the Toa to investigate some Burnak colonies and destroy the Burnak. The Toa goes and kills the Burnak in the colonies, and after that, he goes and reports to Garan, who reveals that there’s a Matoran stronghold, and instructs the Toa to go there and make sure everything is still unharmed there, and to talk to the Resistance leader. After the Toa gets to the stronghold and talks to Balta, he reveals that they are wanting to capture one of the Piraka. He tells the Toa that there’s a Gafna infestation where they were planning on trapping Thok, and tells the Toa to go back to Garan and tell him what he said, plus gives the Toa a weapon to defeat the Gafna. When the Toa gets back to Garan he says that the weapon can be upgraded, and tells the Toa to retrieve his tool-kit. After the Toa retrieves the tool-kit and brings it back, Garan immediately upgrades the Toa’s weapon, but he says that the Toa should have more armor, and tells the Toa to talk to Velika. He tells the Toa to go get 5 Water Burnak metal pieces and 5 Water Gafna metal pieces, and bring them back. After the Toa does so, Velika give the Toa some armor and a key to a storage box in the Launcher Store, and tell him he might find some more armor in there. After the Toa goes to the Launcher Store and looks in the chest, he goes back to Velika, who asks the Toa to retrieve his equipment from the village Garan is in. After the Toa returns there, finds the equipment and goes back to the stronghold, Velika tells the Toa to return to Garan while waiting for the Locating Stone to be repaired. When the Toa talks to Garan, he says that they should wait by helping to clear out the Rock Ussals in front of the fortress. After the Toa defeats all the Rock Ussals, he reports back to Garan, who tells the Toa that Thok has been located by the Matoran, and the Toa travels to the Ice Ring and attacks Thok, soundly defeating him and forcing the Piraka into retreat. After that, the Toa goes to the Matoran Fortress to talk with Balta, who say that the Toa should talk with Garan next.

Chapter 3: The Caves of Voya Nui

The Caves of Voya Nui

Chapter 3: The Caves of Voya Nui

Garan orders the Toa to search the Voya Nui Caves to try to find a way through. He defeats a Nektann garrison outside the entrance, but is forced to turn back when the Lightstones in the caves are revealed to be burnt out. After finding food for Piruk’s pet Burnak, the Toa retrieves a Lightstone and enters the caves, demolishing a Nektann garrison. He leaves and later returns with a Zamor Launcher, releasing the slave. Next, the Toa escorts the Matoran back to the Matoran Stronghold. After talking to Garan, the Toa speaks to Piruk and retrieves an invisibility stone from some Stone Burnak. After getting the metal eating insects to destroy a drill, the Toa talks with Garan, yet again. The Toa returns and destroys another set of Nektann, obtaining the keys necessary to reach a teleportation gate. The Toa then finds Thok and Reidak there; after beating them soundly, he returns to Garan.

Chapter 4: The Voya Nui Desert

The Voya Nui Desert

Garan wishes to journey to his hideout on the edge of Voya Nui. Once you take him through the Nui Caves and find the location, he gives you a weapon, and asks you to try it out against the Stone Rahi nearby. Afterwards, Garan asks the Toa to get rid of the nearby Fikou and Ussal, fearing them as spies for the Piraka in some way. Requiring Protodermis, Garan sends the Toa to find Kazi, in order to retrieve some. Kazi and the Toa fill a container with Protodermis and both deliver it to Kazi. Garan suggests next that the Toa scope out the black rocks area and find the Piraka Stronghold, but not attempt any fighting at all, as the Toa is not strong enough to take all the Piraka or the Stronghold. Upon going there, the Toa finds an enslaved Matoran in an enclave. Reporting back to Garan, Garan theorizes that the Piraka are using enslaved Matoran to supply their base with Protodermis, stored in a warehouse. Garan tells the Toa to seek out Piruk, who can help them find the warehouse; if the warehouse could be destroyed, then the Piraka’s plans could be set back. Talking to Piruk, the Toa gets Destruction Crystals, which can destroy the storage warehouse. After destroying the warehouse, the Toa returns to Garan. Garan tells the Toa that Zaktan has been seen prowling around the Protodermis Lake. Returning to the lake, the Toa defeats Zaktan, and seeks Garan out yet again.

Chapter 5: The Black Rocks

The Black Rocks

Upon returning to Garan, the group targets the Black Rocks area next. The Toa is first assigned to annihilate four flocks of Hikaki, which have infested the area since the Piraka arrived. After the deed is done, Garan instructs the Toa to speak to Velika to obtain tools to dig through rock. After finding 10 pieces of Fikou Metal for Velika, Velika makes the Toa the tools. Immediately, the Toa speaks to Garan to find the location of three Matoran slaves, and frees them; they show him/her where they hid three tools for the Piraka, when they were under the influence of Antidermis. Digging through the ground, the Toa uses the tools Velika made him, and recovers the Piraka’s items. After rescuing each Matoran, the Toa escorts them to Garan’s Hideout. After finishing the lengthy quest, Garan identifies the parts as a weapon. Garan asks the Toa to travel to a small cave and defeat three Ussal Crabs to get their shells. He warns the Toa though, as these Ussal Crabs are more powerful than the others that the Toa has previously faced.

After returning to Garan, he gives you the weapon, a Ripper. Next, he asks you to go and steal supplies from a warehouse that Zaktan has, in an effort to undermine the Piraka’s team camaraderie. The Toa is sent to find a Matoran who knows three different entrances to the warehouse, and check out the different entrances. After exploring the warehouse/caves, the Toa reports back to Garan, to find that the Matoran Fortress is under attack. The Toa quickly rushes to their aid. After destroying the Nektann invasion, the Toa speaks to Kazi, who presents the Toa with a Water Talon, as a gift of thanks.

Chapter 6: The Piraka’s Virus Factory

The Piraka's Virus Factory

Chapter 6: The Piraka’s Virus Factory

Reporting back to Garan on the status of the Matoran Fortress, Garan tells the Toa it is finally time to strike the Piraka Stronghold. The Toa is instructed to find the Stronghold and defeat all the enemies guarding the entrance. After eliminating the guards, a special breed of Burnak, Stronghold Guards, the Toa returns to Garan. After telling Garan that the front entrance was locked, the Toa searches for another way to enter the Stronghold. Upon inspection, the Toa finds a pipe that leads into the fortress. When the Toa tells this to Garan, Garan hypothesizes that Piruk’s pet Burnak could fit in that pipe, and sends the Toa to ask Piruk if he/she could borrow him.

When the Toa speaks to Piruk, he/she finds that the food he brought to the Burnak earlier caused it to become sick. Piruk says that there is no need to apologize and asks the Toa to find a Lifestone and an energy crystal. The Lifestone can be found among Fire Gafna, in the Black Rocks, and the Energy Crystal can be found with a Lava Ape at the Cape of No Hope. After the Toa deliver the rocks, Piruk tells the Toa that his Burnak has gone missing. He points out a likely location on the Toa’s map, and suggests that he looks under all the rocks. After finding and healing the Burnak, Piruk lends him his Burnak, and the two seek out Garan. Garan tells the Toa to continue his quest, and use the Burnak to open the main door, warning that more Nektann must be on their way. After putting the Burnak through the pipe in the Stronghold, the player takes control of the Burnak. After opening the door, and getting in the Stronghold, the Toa has a new mission: find and defeat Avak. Going to the control room, the Toa defeats Avak, and then heads to the Launcher Storeroom, where he defeats Zaktan, along with some Nektann.

Chapter 7: The Chamber of Truth

The Chamber of Truth

When the Toa returns to Garan, he/she is informed of the capture of a freed Matoran at the hands of Reidak, and Vezok is interrogating him. Garan tells the Toa to go to the Teleportation Platform, and use it to teleport to the Chamber of Truth, in hopes that it works. Finding it broken, the Toa seeks out Balta, who tells him what supplies he needs to repair the teleporter, some fire metal from certain Fire Gafna/Burnak, located at a spot on your map, and an energy stone, which Balta buried long ago. He points out on your map where he believes the stone to be. After the gate is repaired, the Toa passes through, but finds the gate, and backdoor, to the Chamber of Truth locked. The Toa reports back to Garan, who refers him again to Balta. Balta tells the Toa that before he/she came, they attempted to enter the Chamber of Truth, but did not succeed; they did however find a key to the backdoor, and buried it in the jungle in the Cape of No Hope.

After recovering the key, the Toa rescues the Matoran and escorts him to Garan’s Hideout. After doing so, the Toa is alerted that Reidak and Vezok have formed an alliance, and that Reidak is scouring the island for other Matoran to interrogate. To stop him, the Toa destroys battalions of Nektann to draw out Reidak. Unfortunately, the Toa is captured by Reidak and is taken to Vezok for interrogation, during which, the Toa manages to get Vezok to distrust all the Piraka. After he is questioned, the Toa is jailed, but manages to break out with the aid of Piruk’s Burnak. He attacks and defeats Reidak and Vezok, before escaping the Chamber.

Chapter 8: The Lava Lake and the Chamber of the Mask of Life

The Lava Lake and the Chamber of the Mask of Life

The Toa returns to Garan, who assigns the Toa to spy on the Piraka in the Black Rocks region of Voya Nui. Observing from High Rock and the Dam Station, the Toa finds out that the Piraka are making the Matoran drain the Lake of Lava, in order to attain the Mask of Life. He goes to Dalu to find out more, and is sent to rendezvous with a spy in the Matoran Stronghold. The spy tells him the Piraka’s plan, and the Toa returns to Dalu and tells her of his findings. The Toa returns with some a set of Gafna-fire armor and escorts the spy to a sanctuary in the Cape of No Hope. The Toa returns and attempts to break into the dam station using Piruk’s Burnak, but fails, unable to find an opening. After opening it, he returns, but the Burnak is wounded; using stolen supplies from a Nektann convoy on the ice ring, he heals the Burnak again and succeeds. Hakann ambushes the Toa, but is beaten and retreats. The Lake has been drained by now, and the Toa travels the island to get the keys for the Chamber of Life. Once he breaks in, he encounters the Piraka (minus Zaktan) and manages to win in a 5-on-1 brawl. The Toa presses further and is attacked by Vezon and Fenrakk. He wins and claims the Mask of Life. He travels further into the chamber, finding and defeating Zaktan. Victorious, he returns to Garan.

To activate the control panel, press and hold the Ctrl key and ‘(apostrophe) (on German keyboards: STRG + Ä) at the same time. Click next to the arrow at the bottom of the window that appears and type in “core”. From there, you can type in any one of the following codes:

  • chapter (Number from 0-9 here) – Jump to the specified chapter.
  • gimmy – Gives the player all of the items in the game, including the Mask of Life, Nui Blaster, and the Vision Mask, a special mask that can only be obtained with this code.
  • pieceofcake – Gives the player a Life Stone, the Nui Blaster (the most powerful weapon in the game that cannot be obtained by any other normal means), one “Thok Key”, three “Hidden Caves Keys”, and a Medium Attack Armor of air.
  • onemorenight – When this cheat code is activated, it allegedly adds a new level to the game, but it in fact does nothing.
  • god – Enemies will not bother the player while they are on a quest
  • level (Number 1-50) – Will increase the player’s level to the number they choose; It will not decrease the level.
  • fight – Deactivates the ‘god’ cheat

Additionally, the codes ‘ui’, ‘audio’ and ‘worker’ can be typed in instead of ‘core’. It is unknown what these codes do.

Trivia

  • The Voya Nui Online Game was supposed to be released at the end of the year 2005, but was released on 20th September 2006, almost one year later.
  • In the beta version the Kanohi Ignika had another look in the inventory. The image, now available for the Vision mask, was later replaced by the current image.
  • The Piraka are seen in their prototype forms.
  • The game has released many new Rahi and Nektann, as well as three different versions of the Mask of Life.
  • Kazi and Dalu’s names were switched; this was changed later. However, Kazi was still referred to as a female and Dalu as a male. They also retained each other’s personalities and features. Kazi has Dalu’s fierce warrior mindset, and Dalu refers to herself as a cold weather Matoran.
  • The elements Stone and Earth were also switched.
  • The game showed a first official sneak preview at 2007.
  • The game’s files featured an odd figure. It is still not known if they were a prototype of Hahli, or a Barraki prototype, as the figure appeared to have a Squid Launcher. Another picture showed the underwater city Mahri Nui.
  • The game was produced for The LEGO Group by Ankama Studio.
  • If the player does not defeat Vezok in Chapter 7, the player will be unable to proceed unless they use cheat codes.
  • If the player uses cheat codes, the player will not be able to advance unless they disable the cheat.

Free The Band Things

Island Investigation

Island Investigation is a non-canonical game on FreeTheBand.com in which the player plays as a Matoran that is accompanying a Matoran being controlled by Kongu. Kongu often speaks to the player’s character, filling him in as to what he must to do help the Toa Inika and free the All-American Rejects.

At the beginning, Kongu briefs the Matoran on what his mission is, and what to do. Throughout the game, Kongu continues to speak to the Matoran, alerting him to different threats and things to look for. Each level contains a puzzle, that, when solved, reveals a clue as to where the next level takes place.

Level One

The Matoran first looks around in a forest, alert to clues. After finding assorted items, the Matoran takes a look at the word puzzle, and, when completed, it reads Matoran Village. After using the Bamboo Gun to tag Reidak, the Matoran departs for the village.

Items Collected

  • Two Fragments of Paper with Messages
  • MP3 Player
  • AAR Hat

Level Two

At the Matoran cliffside village, the Matoran scavenges for items again, and this time solves a Sudoku puzzle, this time pointing the direction to the next level. After tagging Avak this time, the Matoran departs.

Items Collected

  • Poster of Toa Inika
  • Music Player
  • Vial of Liquid
  • Paper Fragment

Level Three

Piruk and the Matoran journey this time to a lava cavern, which, at the moment, Hakann is guarding. The duo look for clues yet again and sneakily tag Hakann. The two push a boulder, and proceed farther into the cavern.

Items Collected

  • Two Fragments of Paper
  • Life Jacket
  • Rubber Band
  • MP3 Player

Level Four

Piruk and the Matoran journey farther, and find themselves in a cavern guarded with Thok. After tagging Thok and collecting all the clues, the two take their hand at a puzzle in which they arrange stone blocks. After finding out that they must go to the Piraka Stronghold, they depart.

[carve] Items Collected

  • 2 Fragments of Paper
  • Guitar Pick
  • Spiked Belt
  • MP3 Player

Level Five

Piruk and the Matoran finally arrive at the stronghold, where the All-Americans Rejects are being held captive. Finding a Y-shaped stick, the two of them take the rubber band and create a sling shot. Using this, the two of them load a stone, and hit it at Zaktan. Believing that Vezok hit him, Zaktan attacks Vezok, in which a full-scale battle begins. With the distraction, the two Matoran managed to grab an empty Zamor Sphere. The two then fill it with cryo fluid, giving it the ability to freeze other objects. Firing it at the two Piraka, they are frozen, allowing the Matoran to tag them. They then slip through the doorway, finding a pair of drumsticks. Freeing the band, Kongu congratulates the player, ending the game.

The Rhotuka Spinner Challenge was a game based off the 2005 Rhotuka set feature.

Arena Challenge

Gameplay

If the player selects “Arena Challenge”, the game will choose a random BIONICLE.com user for the opponent, and the player’s pre-arranged Arena Strategy will be matched against the opponent’s. The player’s Attack choices will be compared to the opponents Defenses, and vice-versa. A “Low” Attack will be blocked by a “Low” defense, but will get past a “High” or a “Medium”, and so on. The player can either watch the battle or skip forward to the results.

To play in Arena Challenge, or be chosen for another player’s Arena Challenge, the player must set up an Arena Strategy. The player chooses his area (USA, Europe, or Asia), a character, attack/defense strategies, and a taunt. The Arena Strategy will be used for Arena Challenges, and can be edited at any time.

Cleans Your Teeth And Fun

Bionicle: Colgate

BIONICLE: Colgate was a promotional game by Colgate.

Gameplay

Gameplay.

The objective of the game was to guide Toa Metru Vakama, Matau, and Whenua through three different levels, collecting eight Kanoka Disks in each level. Once the three levels were completed, one had a chance to pick out the disks which were seen at the starting screens of the levels in order to “win heroic prizes.” What this meant is unknown, as the redirect one is presented with upon selecting the correct Kanoka is invalid.

Level 1

Level one gives the player control over Vakama. Eight disks must be collected here while avoiding two mobile fireballs which move vertically and the lava at bottom of the screen.

Level 2

Level two gives the player control over Matau. Seven disks must be collected here while avoiding four mobile, spinning blades which move horizontally. Although there are eight slots for Kanoka Disks in this level, there are only actually seven that the player can collect. However, this does not impede progressing to level three.

Level 3

Level three gives the player control over Whenua. Seven disks must be collected here while avoiding three mobile boulders which move vertically.

Controls

  • Space Bar – Jump.
  • Left and Right directional keys – Move left or right respectively.
  • Enter – Begin game.
  • S – Skip current level.

Morbuzakh Is A Famous Person, Plant, Thing, Whatever!

Stop The Morbuzakh!

Stop the Morbuzakh! is an Online Game available on BIONICLE.com. It can also be downloaded from the Game Archive section of the Kanoka Club.

Objective

To defend the Molten Protodermis Reclamation foundry against the Morbuzakh.

The player would look on their ‘radar’, or Vakama’s view, to see if a Morbuzakh was attacking, which was represented by an arrow pointing that direction. The player would then run over, aim a disk, and fire it. The game would continue like this, with a multitude of vines attacking. Every time a vine would snap one of the buckets, it fell, and the Molten Protodermis level would rise. The higher the vine snaked, the closer the bucket was to falling. To break the monotony, blue Ga-Metru freeze disks popped up, and the player collected them, each one providing two shots. Eventually, a beeping sound would come up, signifying that the game was close to being over.

Controls

  • Arrow Keys – Move.
  • A – Aim up.
  • Z – Aim down.
  • Ctrl – Change Kanoka Disks.
  • Space Bar – Launch Disks.

Enemies

The main enemy in the game is the Morbuzakh, and more specifically the Morbuzakh Vines. There are three different kinds of vines:

Green Vines – The most common vine in the beginning. They can be defeated with a single shot of the Kanoka Launcher. For each Green Vine defeated, 25 points are received.

Yellow Vines – Can only be defeated in two shots twice normally, or one with a Ga-Metru Freezing disk. For each Yellow Vine defeated, 50 points are received.

Blue Vines – The least common vine in the beginning. They can only be defeated with a Ga-Metru Freezing disk. For each Blue Vine you defeated, 100 points are received.

Trivia

When it was released, scores were supposed to earn you Kanoka Points, but that update never came.

Time indicates how long the player has been controlling Tahu Nuva, symbols indicates how many Nuva Symbols the player has collected, and speed indicates the speed at which Tahu Nuva is traveling. The penalty for missing a Nuva Symbol is five seconds added to the time counter. All three of the counters reset when the game ends. The game will end, forcing the player to restart, when Tahu Nuva runs into a rock, or reaches the twenty-fifth possible Nuva Symbol.

When the meter is completely depleted, no more actions can be made, causing Gali Nuva to sink straight down. In addition to the energy meter, there is a dive time counter at the upper right corner of the play area. This indicates the amount of time that the player has been controlling Gali Nuva. Both of the counters reset when the game ends. At the upper portion of the play area, there are two measurements, score and life, which originally contains four lives. Score is increased by one hundred points each time a cloud is avoided, while a life is lost when a cloud is run into. When this happens, Lewa Nuva temporarily disappears, becoming invulnerable, then appears a short time later, in the same position that the life was lost at. Both of the counters reset when the game ends. The game will end, forcing the player to restart, when the life counter reaches zero.

Controls

Gameplay

Pohatu’s Matching Pairs

Pohatu’s Matching Pairs is a game that was released in 2003 as a promotion for BIONICLE: Mask of Light. The objective of the game is to uncover twelve pairs of identical images by flipping over stone tablets, causing them to leave play. The underside of the tablets depict various things from Mask of Light, including Tahu Nuva, Lewa Nuva, Onua Nuva, Gali Nuva, Kopaka Nuva, Turahk, Teridax, Jaller, Takua, the Kanohi Avohkii, and Metru Nui. The player may only have two tablets face-up at any one point in the game, forcing them to remember what the underside, of each tablet that they’ve seen, featured. At the upper portion of the play area, there are three counters. They display how many pairs have been removed from play, the number of times the player has flipped a tablet, and the amount of time that the player has been playing. These counters will reset when the game ends. The game will end, forcing the player to restart, when all tablets are removed from play. Although there is no way to lose this game, when the player completes it, a window appears, displaying their total time and number of flips.

After each successful round, the sequence grows in length by one symbol added to the end, as well as the Nuva Symbols flashing faster than the previous round. At the upper portion of the play area, there are two areas, score and a text section that will display various messages when starting, or losing a game. Score is increased by one point each time a sequence is successfully repeated. The score counter resets when the game ends. The game will end, forcing the player to restart, when they fail to accurately repeat the sequence. There is no way to win this game, for it continues until the player loses.
